HOW YOU CAN HELP

1. Please contact two other brewpubs or microbreweries in and outside of your state to ask them to participate so we can get this rolling outside of our state. The East Coast pubs should be able to talk to New Jersey and Delaware.

2. Please forward a press release to local papers and to your email lists about your participation. If you have a good PR person, please see if they can help. Please check the local papers and radio and see if they can give free advertising space.

3. The Pennsylvania Brewer's Guild is working on a poster that can copy on 11 x 17” paper and suggest you copy it on light red, light blue paper & white paper and be willing to give copies to normal pubs if they join the cause. The poster has yet to be made but Penn Brewery and CBW will work on that. Also, place mini-flyers in your venue for people to take home.

4. Also, Forward suggestions that you think are helpful.  One twist could be to sell logo glasses with everything above cost going to the fund as well.

5. Post on your website if possible. Tell Friends to tell Friends.

HOW IT WILL WORK
1. Each venue will allocate a portion of their beer sales on Oct 11th for the event. Some are giving 100%, some are giving 50%, some are giving 50 cents to $1.00 from each beer sold to the fund. . In the case of a  big chain, they may need to limit the event to a portion of the day.  CBW will also donate handcrafted root beer, coffee, ice tea and soda sales for the Children and tea totalers to partake. You may consider that option as well.

2. Each Venue will simply write a check direct to “The September 11th Fund” of the United Way. You can mail it in or give it to the local United Way Rep that night or the next day and perhaps generate extra good will. Some venues may prefer a different relief fund which is okay, we are still are all on a common goal.

You may want to ask local fireman, EMT, Politicians to come support the event and perhaps man a donation booth at the Venue. People have been donating into big firemans boots.

3. Micros will donate kegs or sell them for $1 to a local beer pub. That pub will in turn donate proceeds on the 11th. Please advise participating microbrewery sponsored pubs and we will add to the website. Nancy at Yards and myself are asking for legality of this from Fran O’Brien, the Guild’s legal consultant.

4. We are not gathering to mourn but to honor and suggest keeping the mood positive. CBW plans to have a Jazz band for the night.
